Dota 2 peaks at 200,000+ concurrent during DreamHack

The numbers from DreamHack are here and Dota 2 leads the concurrent viewers charts, leaving other eSports titles like StarCraft 2, CS:GO and Heroes of Newerth far behind. Put together, the day three English and the Russian stream peaked at 201,267 concurrent viewers. 

According to the official announcement, DreamHack Winter 2013 was the most viewed DH event to date. The 44 streams total (9 on-site and 35 community-ran) brought a 49% increase to viewed/started sessions (up to 13,803,820), 67% in minutes of content consumed (416,065,500 minutes or 791,6 years) and 48% increase in unique viewers, going up to 2,851,380.

Dota 2 leads the race for biggest outreach. Valve's largest eSports title and its two main streams collectively peaked at more than 200,000 concurrent viewers during the grand final day, 103,463 coming from the English stream and 92,128 from its Russian counterpart. 

The competition for the second place was a close one between StarCraft II and CS:GO, the latter eventually winning with a peak of 97,804 during day three, leaving SC2 down at third place with a peak of 96,025.
 

The same sources also reveals the date for the 2014 DreamHack season as well as details for the 2014 Summer and Winter events. Next year, the tournament will expand to seven stops up from five and will travel to Göteborg, Sweden and Moscow, Russia.
