Netolic Pro League #5 qualifiers attain a conclusion
After an action-packed week with some of the best of SEA, the qualifiers of the fifth season of Netolic Pro League reach a conclusion. Two teams have managed to overpower the opposition in their groups, securing a spot in the prestigious 65,000 RMB main event.
Eastern Qualifiers
The Eastern qualifiers were comprised almost exclusively of SEA teams and predicting the victors was pretty much impossible. In the end, it was Arrow that emerged from Group A after their 2-0 win against Mineski, while Scythe were able to take down MiTH-Trust in three games as well. Scythe and Arrow will join the invited teams in the demanding main event.
Main Event
For the first time in Netolic Pro League, the main event participants are the elite of Chinese Dota2, and the competition is expected to be quite fierce. Arrow and Scythe will join iG, Vici Gaming, LGD, Titan and NewBee, the recently formed Chinese powerhouse. DK will not be a part of this event and will be replaced by Team CNB (ex-For Love). DK as previosuly announced to take part but due to a missunderstand between the organizer and the team manager, they had to pull out not to collide with the upcoming Sina Cup.
The main event participants will have to battle their way to victory through a double elimination bracket, with best-of-three matches leading up to the best-of-five Grand Final. The games are scheduled to begin on Monday, February 24.
