DK and Invictus Gaming take the lead in SLTV China

Team DK and Invictus Gaming maintain their lead in the Chinese division for StarLadder StarSeries IX, halfway since the event's inception. The question is rather, which of the five big teams will fall short?

StarLadder StarSeries China's main event is in full swing and as we nearly approach the end of the event, we have a few teams sitting at top of the table mid-way through the competition. Cementing themselves on top are the Chinese juggernauts, Team DK and Invictus Gaming, with both teams maintaining a clean score of 4:0.

NewBee, on the other end, have been impressive after their lacklustre and dismal performance in their debut match in Sina Cup 3, which has earned them third place in the group. Changes were not slow to be made within the ranks as Xiao8 quickly moved to the offlane position, leaving KingJ as support. On top of that, Banana replaced ZSMJ as the other support a few days ago. Trailing behind NewBee is Vici Gaming, who stomped DT.NGC in a one sided affair and thereby take the fourth position.

Unfortunately, the new LGD has failed to live up to it's standards and have faltered heavily with inconsistent performance in StarSeries and are sharing the fifth place currently, together with TongFu.Wanzhou and Dream Team. CIS is placed at the very bottom with their so-far record of zero wins.

Teams that have undergone changes are still trying to adapt to their new playstyle, with iG being the most efficient and LGD being the least efficient. DK and iG are most likely to maintain their lead and qualify for the regional playoffs. The underdogs of the season have not been able to swing the upset card and there will most likely not be any surprises in the final standings of the division. However, since only four teams will qualify for the regional playoffs, one of the big five teams is bound to be cut off. Currently it looks like it will be LGD, but Vici Gaming is surprisingly still in danger. Worth noting is that Dream Time have been playing decently despite losing the majority of the games so they are still a contestor if they can score the results.
