LGD.cn secures ticket to Las Vegas

LGD.cn finished first in D2L Eastern Division and secured their ticket to Las Vegas for the main event. On the other hand, Rattlesnake, LGD International and RisingStars have been eliminated from the race.

As week four of D2L Eastern Division concludes, LGD.cn has been guaranteed a first place finish in the Eastern Division after DK, their week five opponent, dropped two games against Vici Gaming yesterday afternoon. iG and Vici Gaming could still catch up with LGD.cn in terms of points, but we have been informed that in case of a tie, the head-on encounter between the two teams will be accounted for first. With LGD.cn beating both iG and VG before, this means they have qualified for D2L main event next year and will be chilling while the second, third, fourth and fifth placers battle it out in the bubble race for the final spot.

One of the biggest highlights of D2L week four is Jia Jun 'Sylar' Liu's debut for Vici Gaming. Vici Gaming coincidentally faced Sylar's former team, RisingStars to kick-off the week and while all three games were rather close, Sylar was able to carry his team to victory on the Luna in game one and game three. Vici Gaming went off to face DK on the same day and many branches and rares were lost as DK underperformed in both games. As a result, Vici Gaming jumped into third place in the standings and is now a huge contender for the second spot in D2L.

Besides that, TongFu have also guaranteed a fifth position finish after their 2-1 victory against RisingStars to close out the week. With the top five placers of the Eastern Division decided, LGD International, Rattlesnake and RisingStars will not be making the cut even if they win their matches next week.

All in all, only four games remain in D2L Eastern Division and the top five teams have been decided. The crucial match next week will undoubtedly be between Invictus Gaming and Vici Gaming. The match will highly likely decide who finishes second in the group and will receive a huge advantage going into the bubble race.
