Sina Cup Dota 2 Open Returns 25th November

The Sina Cup Supernova Dota 2 Open Tournament returns featuring a larger prize pool of 65 000 RMB. The previous finalists, Invictus Gaming and TongFu will participate in the ten day tournament.

Chinese online media company, Sina have announced the return of the Sina Cup featuring twelve chinese teams who will complete against each other for a total prize pool of 65 000 RMB which is a sizable jump from the previous 27 000 RMB offered in the previous tournament. 65 000 RMB is roughly $10 000. Eight teams have been invited to participate which includes the chinese dream machine, Team DK, Vici Gaming, RisingStars, LGD, LGD.int and one of South East Asia's rising teams, Titan. Both finalists from the previous Sina Cup, Invictus Gaming and TongFu will return to have another crack of winning the top prize.

Four other teams will be forced to play in the qualifiers before they are able to secure their spot in the tournament. Among those teams is Rattlesnake whose previous results in the Sina Cup left quite a dent in the faith of fans who expected better results from the newly minted lineup at the time, thus not receiving a direct invite. Whether Rattlesnake shake off the ghosts of their past and secure a position with the other eight teams is a question only they themselves can respond to.

All twelve teams will play in a double elimination bracket with the main tournament to begin Monday November 25th after the qualifiers have been played. The English stream of the tournament will be covered by BeyondTheSummit and SLTV will cover the Russian stream respectively.
